毎年、家の玄関の斜め横に設置してある

水道の蛇口の下で咲いていたベゴニア。

ふと、足を止めると

まわりを囲む繊細なシダの葉が、

その鮮やかな花色をやさしく引き立てています。

すぐに、手元にあったスマートフォンでプロの写真家に

なった気分で撮影しました。

ベゴニアは日陰にも強く、

季節を問わず庭を彩ってくれる頼もしい花。

湿り気を好むシダとの相性も抜群で、

半日陰の場所に自然な調和を生み出します。

まるで森の中の小さなオアシスのような癒しの風景です。

• 科名：シュウカイドウ科（Begoniaceae）
• 属名：ベゴニア属（Begonia）
• 原産地：熱帯・亜熱帯地域（南米・アジア・アフリカなど）
• 開花時期：春～秋（品種により通年咲くことも）

🌼 見分けのポイント

• 光沢のある厚みのある葉（写真でも艶やかに反射しています）
• 花は小さめで、赤・ピンク・白などの色が多く、中心に黄色いおしべが見える
• 丸くやや肉厚の葉が、ハート形に近い形をしている

写真の個体は「四季咲きベゴニア（センパフローレンス系）」と呼ばれる園芸品種で、

日陰にも強く、庭や鉢植えでよく見られます。
